Regarding Your Personal Information:
- We only collect your information when you
allow us to do so. This includes registering
with jimscellars.com or placing an order.
- The details we collect are limited to
your email address and your delivery address.
This is the minimum amount of information
required by our couriers and jimscellars.com
to ensure prompt and accurate delivery of your
purchases.
- NSW Licensing Laws require that we ask your
date of birth for all liquor purchased.
- Your email address is generally only used
as a user name for you to "log in" to our site.
From time to time we may send you information
regarding specials and news, but only at your
request. These will generally be via email
only.
- Jimscellars.com in no way participates in,
or approves of, the sale of customer information
to marketing agencies or third parties. Your
information stays with us.
- Our site may contain links to web sites
outside jimscellars.com. jimscellars.com will
not be held responsible for the content or
practices of these sites.
Regarding Cookies
- A cookie is a small text-file stored on
your computer for the purposes of "remembering"
a piece of information. In the case of
jimscellars.com, this information is limited
only to your email, password and a "session ID"
(used by the shopping cart) in order to
automatically register you on the site upon
returning. This cookie will expire automatically
after 1 month of not visiting the site.
- We cannot use these cookies to track or
log your movements elsewhere, or "remember"
any other activities you conduct. This is
impossible as a cookie can only be accessed,
read, or changed by the site which originally
created it. This also means that your email
address and password are accessible only by
jimscellars.com.
- We require our customers enable cookies
to use the shopping cart as a minimum. This
is because the shopping cart data is stored
on our web server to enhance and speed-up the
shopping experience for you. A downside of
this method is that the user has to have
cookies enabled to use it properly. If you
do not have cookies enabled, you will still
be able to browse our site and check out our
great prices, but you will not be able to
use the e-commerce facilities of
jimscellars.com.
Regarding Security of your Details
Security is one of the greatest fears surrounding
shopping on the Internet. A simple fact to keep in
mind is that it is EASIER to tap a phone line
(or fax) and intercept a credit card number by
this method than it is to tap an UNSECURED
Internet transaction. This is especially true
in the case of jimscellars.com. We use the
industry standard 128-bit encryption SSL
(Secure Sockets Layer) protocol to securely
encrypt (encode) all transactions of private
information on our site.
- This includes email address, and delivery
details. Any time you wish to ensure the integrity
of our SSL connection, double-click the padlock
in the lower right of the browser to view the
details of the connection.
- This security certificate (which both
verifies our identity and verifies the security
of the connection) is issued by security company
Verisign, who are generally accepted as the
world-leaders in Internet security systems.
This is the same kind of certificate used by
financial institutions and large-scale
e-commerce sites the world over.
- Currently 128-bit is the STRONGEST level
of encryption available. This ensures that we
are equally the safest e-commerce site in the
world to deal with at this time.
- One requirement of the 128-bit encryption
protocol is the user (you) having the latest
browser. To ensure your privacy, please
download the latest browsers from the Microsoft
website or the Nestcape website, depending on
the browser you require.
Regarding Our Use of Your Information
- Your credit card details are sent directly
to the ANZ Bank through their patented eGATE
transaction software. This means we never
actually see your credit card number, and it
is never transferred to our server.
- Your delivery details are sent to us for
the sole use of addressing your purchases for
delivery. Our agents (the couriers we use,
both Australia Post and Fastway couriers) are
also privy to this information, in order to
ensure accurate and prompt delivery.
- Your email address is used by us
(assuming you have provided it) to
email you our Newsletter, which contains
news and specials we believe to be of
interest to you. If you no longer wish to
receive a newsletter, please visit our
Unsubscribe page.
